Gravitational smearing of minimal supersymmetric unification predictions.
The prediction for αs in the minimal supersymmetric SU(5) grand unified theory is studied in the presence of a gravitationally-induced dimension-five operator. Unless the coefficient of this operator is small, the correlation between αs and the mass scale which governs proton decay to Kν is destroyed. Furthermore, a reduction of the experimental uncertainty in αs would not provide a significant...

متن کاملUnification Constraints in the Next - to - Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model
We perform a renormalisation group analysis of the next-to-minimal su-persymmetric standard model (NMSSM) based on the following constraints: two-loop gauge coupling unification at a variable scale M X , running the gauge couplings through the low energy thresholds; universal soft supersym-metry breaking parameters; correct electroweak symmetry breaking. The phenomenological implications of our...
متن کاملNucleon Decay in the Minimal Supersymmetric SU (5) Grand Unification
We make a detailed analysis on the nucleon decay in the minimal super-symmetric SU(5) grand unified model. We find that a requirement of the unification of three gauge coupling constants leads to a constraint on a mass M H C of color-triplet Higgs multiplet as 2×10 13 GeV ≤ M H C ≤ 2×10 17 GeV, taking both weak-and GUT-scale threshold effects into account. Contrary to the results in the previou...
متن کاملPredictions for Constrained Minimal Supersymmetry with Bottom-tau Mass Unification
We examine the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) with an additional requirement of strict b–τ unification in the region of small tanβ. We find that the parameter space becomes completely limited below about 1TeV by physical constraints alone, without a fine-tuning constraint. We study the resulting phenomenological consequences, and point out several ways of falsifying t...
